Kuokua - Bernice Akinwande

Gianna looked young like every other. Beautiful, 5.7ft tall woman in her late 20s, her beautiful skin, always earned her a second look from anyone who walked past her. She was sweet in her own way, kind, caring and a crazy giver. She was a girl every guy would want to associate with. Blessed with a beautiful smile, she didn't wear all the time, she didn't see any reason to smile, being aware of how beautiful her smile is, she felt the world didn't deserve her smile.
Some people thought of her as a very proud and arrogant Lady, but didn't care to give them another impression. She loved solitude but people didn't get to know that part of her.

Talking about her attitude, she wasn't a really patient person. She was always blunt and hated injustice. Her 5th year in school as a medical student, she had more of practical classes at the UTH and couldn't wait to get on with school and even life! She needed help, but couldn't get any, everyone was busy trying to get hand downs from her, or having a bad Impression about her.

"How would i do this?" Romalice spoke out loud with tears in his eyes, as he sat just beside his only surviving brother.
His parents and his two siblings were on their way back from his convocation when the accident happened, the police are claiming its brake failure, but he's not buying it! He kept screaming, "it's the bloody potholes" when the news broke to him. Simba, his little brother survived the crash, his parents didn't, and he feared losing him if the hospital couldn't  get enough blood.
Romalice touched the oxygen mask that was helping his brother breath. He couldn't believe his eyes. It was all like a dream, simba was always the brightest one, now looked so gray. The doctors voice in his head got him into another round of tears "He has lost so much blood, despite the whole blood transfusion he still needs more, his kind of blood type is so rare and it has been exhausted here already. It's late and there's no blood bank around"
"Romalice" he called "His chances of living is so slim, we detected that he has hemophilia too and if you don't want to loose him I suggest you call a family that has his kind of blood. O-" The doctor patted his back and left

He picked up his phone, flipped through his contact looking for who to call. He finally got to Uncle Zuu who has refused to come after spending so  much of his money on blood for Simba and he wasn't responding. He gave up. Romalice called twice but uncle Zuu wasn't picking up, just on the third attempt He picked up "What is it? What exactly is it?" He screamed "Have I not tried, I've spent even to my last penny and he isn't feeling better, please don't call me and let me be. I have bills to pay and family to take care of" He yelled and hung up. Romalice was in aw! He couldn't phathom what was going on, his mind went to a dark place. He couldn't afford to lose his only surviving family How would he cope with no family? What would be his fate?" He stood up in tears, took few steps around the room and sat beside his brother.

"Gianna take this file and let's go see the patient in ward 5 upstairs" Doctor Mubba spoke out loud, as exhausting as the day was, people wondered why his voice never showed any strain. She took the file and they left hurriedly, she met a nurse along the way and gave her the file, to complete the errand so she could join Doctor Mubba as he examined the patient.
"Hope you feel better now?" Doc Mubba asked as he examined the patient, Gianna standing just beside him and observing. "I'm fine, thank you doctor" the patient responded with a smile "I'd tell the nurse to come and give you your final injection okay?" Doc Mubba told the patient

"Okay doc, thanks" the patient replied. "We can go now" Doctor Mubba said facing Gianna.

On their way downstairs, through the passage Gianna noticed something was wrong with a patient in the ward they just passed. Romalice tears attracted her. She got downstairs, dropped the files on her and excused herself from Doctor Mubba's side.

What's wrong? She asked as she came closer to Romalice who was sitting just beside his brother. He looked at her and pretended dumb "what's wrong" she asked again. Romalice was in tears again he couldn't utter a word, his dying brother was all he could think of. Gianna tried to calm him down to talk to her. Eventually he narrated his ordeal to her, Gianna was moved by his story, suddenly Romalice screamed "Oh my God, Oh my goodness!!! Please called the doctor" . Gianna ran downstairs to call the doctor. After few minutes she came in with the doctor. The doctor examined him "I told you already he might not survive this we need blood for him" the doctor said. "How do I get a 0- blood now, there's no family to call again" He said with a shaky voice "Help please, I don't want to lose my only surviving brother" he added. "I'm sorry I wish I could do more, the blood banks are coming up empty" the doctor replied as he turned to go out of the ward.
"I'm 0-, I could donate some of mine for him" a voice from behind said. It was Giannas.
Romalice couldn't believe his ears, his mouth was opened in agape. He was shocked. He didn't know how to react, he was thankful and suspicious, but a tight hug from him, was the only way to show his appreciation "Well well, it's fine. Let's run some test and do the transfusion. Any little time wasted could lead to his mortality" Doctor Mubba intruppted
"Words can't express how grateful I am" Romalice said as he sat just beside Gianna's bed. The transfusion was a success.

" It's fine, I'm happy he's okay now and you're good" she replied.

"Are you okay?" As he noticed her body getting cold and she was visibly shaking "I'm fine" she lied, in a short time Gianna died!! The whole hospital was in disarray, autopsy showed she took poison shortly after the blood transfusion. She left behind a short note, "tired of feeling empty"

Lady B - By Uche Onwuemeli

This story was posted on twitter by Uche, click here  to follow him I was working as a Supply Chain Officer in Lagos, I was in charge of expediting procurement & also following up on vendors. One of our major suppliers had issues with her supply & she came to complain, she met me & I helped solve the issue. That was the Genesis. LADY B While she was leaving my office she left an envelope on my desk & walked away before I could notice, few minutes after she'd left I noticed it I opened it to check & there was N10,000 inside it, I smiled - kept the envelope back on the table & kept working. And Suddenly!! https://t.co/ntgyQRMOjy I heard a Nokia phone ring, I looked closer & found out it was beside the envelope. I picked it up & answered the call & I heard a female voice "This is Lady B" she said, "oh, hi Lady B" I reacted - she confirmed she left the envelope when I asked her just to be sure; "Keep it...

Men in Black - Seyi Dinma Samuel

Based on a true story, with a little spices to make it fun. Some days back, a close friend and I decided to skip work and school and just stay home to rest, I was in my room till I decided to buy water, that was when I saw PHCN officials cut my wire, "chai! Bad market" I thought, "Bros, how far now you didn't even ask if anyone is at home before cutting the light" "Nobody wey get work suppose dey house by this time" the dark pot bellied one replied , I felt insulted, before i knew it, they got into their truck and zoomed off. I was furious, I had given my landlady N1,000 for the month of June, if she paid the light bill, our light won't be cut by the second of July. I forgot about the water I wanted to buy and walked into my neighbors house, their generator was on.  "Cube, how far, abeg I wan charge" I said, he gave me that look like, "don't you know where the socket is" and continued staring at his phone, h...

ROGUE - Seyi Dinma Samuel

Something is different about me, I can't  tell what, but I feel sad. I have a new job, moved into a better apartment, yet something was missing, it was already 11:25pm so there were fewer cars on the road, but even on a busy night, there would have been little or no slow traffic, its Ilorin after all. I reduced my speed as I noticed the police checkpoint ahead, the men in black used their torchlights to flag me down, I wasn't worried or scared, maybe if I was a man I would ,but I wasn't in the mood so no coke money for them, now that I think of it, they weren't here this morning. As I put off the car, I noticed they weren't just police men but the "day light robbers" SARS. " Madam, comot key for the motor and step outside" the leader said, he was drunk, his speech was dragged. " Officer any  problem?" I asked,  " Be like say this one dey mad, forget you be woman! I go shoot shoot all the make up comot your destiny, I...
